Color walk.
As someone who is trying to grow spiritually I listen to a lot of podcasts and follow a lot of men and women who are on the same journey as I am, and almost all of the podcasts I have listened to have suggested trying to find the beauty in the world. I appreciate Mother Nature and all of her colors and her strength, but sometimes you get caught up stressing about the future and staring at your phone screen to get caught up in the latest news or drama that you miss all the beauty she has to offer. This world is beautiful but I think that all the evil going on in the world overshadows all of its beauty.
When I started this Color Identity project the colors that came to mind are the colors that Mother Nature has to offer for example: the color of a tree trunk, the color of leaves, flower petal colors, the color of leaves that have fallen off trees, building colors, etc. It was less about the color wheel or man made colors that we have been learning so much about and more about the colors that Mother Nature has to offer. So the story that I constructed was very Earthy and the photos I took have a lot of trees, grass, leaves, etc. But of course there aren’t too many places you can go that don't have some kind of signs or man made things involved so some of my photos do have man made items involved in some way shape or form.
Along with the time of the day changing, the colors we see change as well; while I was on my walk I noticed that the color of the grass and leaves appear to have changed. Obviously that is not possible but with the shade from trees and buildings and the rays of the sun it appeared as though the colors were changing. When I started my walk I noticed that the color of the grass seemed more saturated and brighter but compared to the grass that was under the shade of a tree, which seemed darker and a lot less saturated. So although the colors themselves weren’t changing and it was the sunlights rays, or lack of, that made the grass look like it was changing colors, the colors of everything were different throughout the walk. I think that all colors have a bigger effect on people's emotions than we realize. I mean look at the photo of these tacos, I don’t know about you but the colors of the tomatoes, and everything in general, is not only making me hungry but they’re giving off a lot of happiness. In my opinion.
